Graduate Civil Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer or Civil Engineering Intern to join our team. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or current civil engineering student interested in working on real projects from day one with mentorship from experienced Professional Engineers.

You will support a variety of infrastructure projects and gain exposure across multiple disciplines, allowing you to discover and develop your professional interests.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Depending on experience and project needs, responsibilities may include:
  • Assist with planning, design, and analysis of civil engineering projects
  • Prepare construction plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates
  • Perform site visits, construction observation, and field documentation
  • Assist with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling (stormwater, floodplain, drainage)
  • Support municipal, transportation, and land development projects
  • Coordinate with survey, materials testing, and construction engineering teams
  • Assist with reports, technical memoranda, and permit applications
  • Utilize CAD, GIS, and engineering software to support project delivery
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and contractors

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or closely related field)
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Strong interest in civil infrastructure and public works projects

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred)
  • Familiarity with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or other hydrologic/hydraulic tools
  • Basic understanding of:
    • Land development design
    • Municipal infrastructure (streets, utilities)
    • Construction plans and specifications
  • Experience with GIS or spatial data a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to perform occasional field work
