Speech Language Pathology Assistant

SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY ASSISTANT (SLPA)

South Florida Autism Charter School (SFACS) is hiring Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) for the 2025-26 school year.  

SALARY:

  • $25 per hour (does not include benefits or paid time off)
  • Contract dates are September 2, 2025 – May 22, 2026

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Valid SLP-A License for State of Florida required.
  • Background screening required through Miami-Dade County Public Schools (cannot begin working without background screening); social security card is required.  Fingerprint fee is $65, payable to the facility; Drug screening fee is $35, payable to the school.
  • Professional Development: Part-time staff must attend four (2) staff trainings per year; Full-time staff must attend two (4) trainings per year. Additional training(s) may be required by the School District.
  • Community Service Requirement: Required to volunteer at one event; the SFACS Walk in April.

OUR MISSION:

South Florida Autism Charter School provides education and therapeutic services to individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) residing in Miami-Dade/Broward Counties, targeting with communication deficits and/or behavioral challenges, and who may require training in self-help skills. The methodologies of B.F. Skinner’s Theory of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior (VB) are applied in conjunction with State Standards for students on a modified curriculum in order to provide the most effective individualized educational programs possible.

SFACS is a charter school that exclusively serves students on the autism spectrum, in grades K-12, up to age 22.
