About Good Raising
Good Raising is a SaaS (Software as a Service) company launched in 2024. We provide customized online planned giving tools to nonprofits. We automate a process that has been so laborious and expensive that most nonprofits could not have a planned giving program at all.
Working with a team of attorneys and software developers, we've developed a first-class planned giving tool that offers unparalleled customization at a price that is feasible for most nonprofits. In partnership with Good Raising, nonprofits can now make it easy for donors and other stakeholders to leave bequests (gifts from wills). This provides a significant benefit to the donor and a large new revenue stream for the nonprofit. The donor gets a high quality will they can complete online, for free, in as little as 20 minutes. The nonprofit receives gifts from wills from donors who want to make an impact as part of their legacy.
Facts to Know:
70% of Americans do not have wills due to costs, the time commitment, and anxiety around the legal process. Good Raising overcomes each of these obstacles, making the process free, quick, and easy to understand.
The average gift from a will averages 3X the donor's LIFETIME giving. The size of a bequest averages $80,000 to $110,000 (depending on the study). Extensive studies have demonstrated that once a person has indicated a gift in their will to a nonprofit, they increase ANNUAL giving by 78% and are much more likely to give a large donation of over $10,000. Planned giving has a much higher ROI than any other area of fundraising, yet most nonprofits have not been able to have a planned giving program. We change that.
Bottom Line:
For the donor, Good Raising is like TurboTax but for Estate Planning.
For the nonprofit, Good Raising automates planned giving, making it as easy as the “donate” button on every nonprofit’s website.

How this work experience will increase the intern’s skills, knowledge, and abilities:
Skills, knowledge, and abilities will be increased by a very structured process that:
- assesses and builds on the intern’s existing skills, knowledge, and abilities,
- introduces them to new skills, knowledge, and abilities through selected readings, teaching from Good Raising personnel, and reflective conversations,
- and, most importantly, provides extensive hands-on experience that hones skills, deepens knowledge, and greatly enhances abilities. Doing is, of course, where the most learning happens and that learning is solidified when accompanied with meaningful reflection.
