Worship Leader Job Description
Worship Pastor
Purpose and Vision
· Serve as the primary worship leader for Danville First (DFC).
· Serve God and the vision of DFC as given by the Co-Pastors.
· Make every effort to bring the vision of DFC to life.
Leading and Developing Others
· Build, direct, coordinate, and develop the praise team at DFC.
· Oversee the worship ministry at all DFC events.
· Ensure the team members are equipped and prepared to worship with excellence.
· Lead weekly rehearsals for the praise team and schedule team members as needed.
· Provide chord charts, MP3s, and other necessary elements for the praise team each week.
· Pastor, coach, disciple, and care for all praise team volunteers. Equip members for the work of the ministry. Including all technical aspects of the worship services, such as supervision of the sound, lighting, video, and ProPresenter technicians.
· Provide leadership and oversight for VBS worship and special community and district events.
Creative Planning
· Communicate weekly with Co-Pastors..
· Participate in a weekly staff meeting.
· Assist in the overall planning of services and be responsible for the selection and leadership of the music.
· Prepare ProPresenter for weekly services.
· Stay current with contemporary worship music and implement new songs regularly. The goal is to introduce a new song approximately every 6 to 8 weeks.
· Track schedule of worship songs to keep weekly sets of music fresh.
· Collaborate and create Sunday morning media packages.
· Seek ways to improve the overall effectiveness of the worship experience.
Additional Responsibilities
We believe all leaders at DFC should have a growth mindset. As an Associate, we would expect you to grow spiritually and in the understanding of who we are as the Church of the Nazarene. Candidates who are pursuing licensure and ministerial education in the Church of the Nazarene will be strongly considered.
Note: Compensation package includes parsonage in addition to salary. Interested candidates should apply.
