Change Academy Internship / Fellowship

Summer 2026: The Change Academy Internship & Fellowship Program (Denver, CO – Design Only; Orlando, FL & Alexandria, VA – All)

Description:

The Change Academy at Marketing for Change offers graduate students, college seniors and others a paid semester-long experience working and learning at one of the nation’s leading behavior-change marketing agencies. In behavior-change marketing, the objective is not sales or profits; it’s influencing behaviors in a way that leads to a healthier, safer, more sustainable world.

Each semester, the Change Academy accepts three to five interns with demonstrated skills or education in marketing, advertising, writing, research, and graphic design. Interns work together with experts in their field on real-life projects and also receive both skill-specific and broader training in behavioral science. Interns participate in agency events, client meetings and (if you want) off-the clock social gatherings. Interns earn $17.95 an hour or minimum wage (whichever is higher) and work 20 hours a week, with at least one day a week in our offices. The in-office experience is critical to help interns improve their skills, work with mentors and share a group experience with other interns in their cohort. Please confirm you can participate in person at your selected location.

The program lasts between 12 and 16 weeks depending on the semester. Instruction takes place during the first 6 to 8 weeks of the internship, mixed with group projects and real work experience. The final weeks focus on work experience and give applicants an opportunity to build an impressive portfolio. Select interns may also be asked to apply as fellows, who can work up to 40 hours a week, or to join the Marketing for Change team permanently as employees. The Change Academy is the main path to entry-level employment at Marketing for Change. Several former M4C interns are now in leadership roles at M4C, including an art director, creative director, senior media planner, and strategist.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience or college classes in a related field. Preference is given to graduate students, recent graduates or college seniors with at least one prior internship in a relevant field. Other adults with the right skills but no degree may also apply. (Several have been successful in the past.)
  • Deep curiosity in what makes people tick.
  • An interest in using your powers for good and making the world a better place.
  • Being a nice person. Seriously. We want the kind of person most other people love to work with.

Please submit your application by April 3, 2026, to be considered for this opportunity. We look forward to learning more about you!
