THE NEW CUMBERLAND STR RESORT IS LOOKING FOR AN INTERIOR DESIGN INTERN
ABOUT THE COMPANY
The New Cumberland is Nashville’s premier STR resort, comprised of 70+ individual units (each 4-5 bedrooms; 4 bathrooms, rooftop pools or hot tubs, elevators, high-end appliances). The resort boasts sought-after amenities such as a community pool, custom pool bar, transportation to and from Broadway, a convenience shop & café, pickleball courts, a private dock, and event space.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Interior Design Recent Graduate to support our design team with day-to-day projects. This internship offers hands-on experience in residential and/or commercial interior design, exposure to real-world projects, and mentorship from experienced designers.
As an intern, you will be working directly with our Lead Designer under the supervision of our Associate Designer to select and source finishes for 70+ individual homes and event spaces. During the design phase, you will be assisting in the design, furnishing, and outfitting. This role works directly with outside suppliers and vendors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with space planning, design concepts, and mood boards
- Help source furniture, finishes, materials, and décor
- Support the preparation of presentations, drawings, and client materials
- Organize samples, vendor information, and design libraries
- Attend site visits, installations, and meetings when applicable
- Provide general administrative and project support
QUALIFICATIONS
- Recently completed a degree in Interior Design or a related field
- Strong interest in interior design and eagerness to learn
- Basic knowledge of design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar is a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks
