Objective
The purpose of this paid internship is to provide hands-on experience in designing and developing playground fixtures that support manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes. The intern will contribute to improving quality and efficiency onsite in the Lewisburg, PA Plant.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to understand fixture requirements.
• Design fixtures using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
• Create detailed drawings and documentation for manufacturing.
• Participate in prototype development and testing of fixtures.
• Ensure designs meet safety, ergonomic, and quality standards.
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design, preferably in your third or fourth year.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks software and mechanical design principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to work in the Lewisburg plant for a minimum of 10 hours per week.
• This is a paid internship starting in Jan/Feb 2026, expected duration is 4-5 months
Expected Outcomes
• Development of at least 30 fixture designs with a 95% completion rate through fabrication.
• Documentation of design process and lessons learned.
• Contribution to improved efficiency and reduced production downtime.
