Survey Technician Intern (Land Development) – Summer 2026

About the Role

Bohler’s Warrenton, VA, Richmond, VA and Gaithersburg, MD offices are seeking a Survey Technician Intern for the Summer of 2026 who is ready to learn how survey data translates into the designs that shape communities. You’ll work closely with field crews and office staff to gather, analyze, and process data for a variety of land-development projects, gaining exposure to every step from collection to final mapping.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare ALTA/ACSM Land Title, Boundary, Topographic, and As-Built Surveys.
  • Create surveys from field-crew data collector files, field sketches, digital photos, and reference maps.
  • Generate surfaces using 3D polylines and points.
  • Operate Trimble total stations, GPS units, and data collectors under the direction of the crew chief.
  • Perform field calculations and site sketches; capture photographs to document conditions.
  • Upload and download files between field equipment and office systems.
  • Coordinate project requirements with team members and assist in meeting deadlines.
  • Conduct quality control to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Comply with company policies and standards; perform other duties as assigned.
