About Hidden Brook Sporting Club

Hidden Brook Sporting Club is a private outdoor sporting destination set on 285 acres in North Carolina’s Brushy Mountains. Just 35 minutes from App State's campus. Our property features sporting clays, archery, hiking trails, and fishing areas, offering members and guests a refined yet authentic outdoor experience.

We are seeking a hands-on Operations Intern who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in physical work, and is eager to learn how a large-scale outdoor sporting property is maintained and operated.

Internship Overview

This is a paid, part-time internship designed for individuals who enjoy being outside and working with their hands. Interns will assist with the daily maintenance and upkeep of the property, facilities, and equipment that support Hidden Brook’s operations.

This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, and interested in outdoor operations, property management, or land stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and caring for 285 acres of outdoor property
• Support upkeep of the sporting clays course, including stations and throwers
• Help maintain the archery range, hiking trails, and fishing areas
• Perform general landscaping, groundskeeping, and property maintenance
• Assist with building, equipment, and machinery maintenance
• Operate and help maintain tools and machinery (training provided as needed)
• Support setup, upkeep, and breakdown for daily operations and events

Required Skills & Qualities

• Strong love of the outdoors and working in nature
• Mechanically inclined with an interest in tools and machinery
• Comfortable performing physical, hands-on work
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to follow instructions
• Willingness to learn and take initiative

Minimum Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors approximately 99% of the time in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
• Availability 2 days per week or part-time (3 days per week)
• Ability to work some weekends
• Reliable transportation to and from the property
