HandsOn AmeriCorps VISTA - Public Health Youth Substance Use Community Engagement and Prevention Coordinator

Join the City of Phoenix: Public Health Office to launch substance abuse prevention programing in one of the most heavily impacted communities in America! In all ages, PHX leads the county in overdose deaths, & you can help reverse that trend. The applicant will implement program outlines using evidence-based research. Designing systems, tools/templates that promote youth programs to increase engagement in substance use prevention education programs. Create internal frameworks, process maps, or workflow guides that staff & partners to coordinate youth prevention efforts increasing school engagement for opioid & substance use prevention. Ensuring all public engagement, youth outreach, coalition/community participation & promotional activities are explicitly assigned to staff. The future member should have background in public health, school-based programing, and/or working with teenage youth engagement. Spanish and/or a knowledge of Phoenix school systems is helpful but not required.
