Mechanical Engineering Specialist
Full time, in person in Hopkinton MA
Precision Digital is looking to add to a team of engineers to design standard products, develop custom solutions and increase manufacturing capabilities. The ideal candidate can multitask across different projects and enjoys new design challenges. This role is focused on mechanical requirements, but there will be exposure to electrical work as well, allowing for multidisciplinary development. Use of 3D CAD software will be daily and use of 3D printers and other machines will be common. Strong communication and project management skills are preferred as collaboration with a variety of internal team members will be frequent, with potential for external customer engagement too.
A new hire will immediately start working on a partially completed design and work to complete it. They will be involved with procuring and testing first piece samples. They will continue supporting the product as it moves to production phase.
Additionally, they will also start working on a new product design. They will be responsible for design creation and component specification. Once the design is finished, they will create part number schemes and provide specification information to the marketing department to create product documentation and any other materials needed for launch. Once launched, they may engage with customers to create custom modifications of the standard design. They will also support the manufacturing operations of said product by creating assembly procedures, procuring and commissioning tools and machines, and designing the associated production floor area.

Education & Experience
- Mechanical college degree or certification required
- Electrical knowledge preferred
- Significant 3D CAD software experience required
