Theatre: Lights and Sound
dLocated in the beautiful Adirondacks, Point O’Pines Camp for Girls is looking for a Lights and Sound lead to join our creative camp community. The Lights & Sound staff member supports the camp’s performing arts program by managing the technical execution of theatrical productions. This role involves operating technical equipment and collaborating with the Theatre Director to enhance shows through professional lighting and sound design.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Execution: Operate lighting boards and sound systems during rehearsals and live performances.
- Design Collaboration: Work with the Theatre Director to design and implement lighting cues and soundscapes for various productions.
- Skill Instruction: Assist in teaching campers the basics of technical theatre, including equipment safety and operation.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all audio-visual equipment is set up safely and maintained throughout the camp season.
- Team Support: Collaborate with other staff on set transitions and participate in general camp-wide activities and evening events.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Prior experience in technical theatre (lighting, sound, or stage management), ideally in a camp or school setting.
- Strong organizational and collaborative skills to work effectively with staff and young campers.
- A high level of energy and a passion for fostering creativity and confidence in children.
