Data Analyst Intern

Role Summary: 

As a Data Analyst Intern, you’ll turn NEXTmsp’s ticketing, operations, and financial data into insight-packed reports and dashboards. You’ll highlight trends, define KPIs, and present recommendations that strengthen SLA attainment and profitability. 

What You’ll Do:

• Analyze service trends: ticket volume, SLA attainment, backlog age, reopen rate. 
• Build and maintain leadership dashboards (weekly/monthly) covering service, operations, financial, and RMM health KPIs. 
• Present findings and recommendations to operations leadership and service managers. 
• Define/document KPI logic, data sources, refresh cadence, and data quality checks. 
• Reconcile data across PSA and financial sources; highlight anomalies. 
• Support QBRs and executive readouts with concise visuals and narratives. 
• Contribute to data collection, cleaning, and analysis processes 
• Aid in interpreting data trends and patterns to inform strategic decision-making 
• Assist with light automation for scheduled report refreshes. 

Basic Qualifications 

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Data/Business Analytics, Statistics, CS, Information Systems, or related field. 
• Analytical thinkers adept at translating data into actionable recommendations 
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (VLOOOKUP, PivotTables). 
• Understanding of descriptive statistics and data visualization best practices. 
• Strong communication skills; comfortable presenting to non-technical audiences
