Program Overview

The Summer Finance Internship provides undergraduate students with hands-on exposure to institutional finance, capital markets, and sales and trading environments. Interns work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain practical insight into financial markets and industry operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

Interns in the Irvine office can expect to:

  • Gain an overview of the IPO market
  • Learn and participate in a structured institutional sales process
  • Conduct research and analysis to support sales and market activity
  • Interact with issuers and internal stakeholders, as appropriate
  • Rotate through other functional areas to broaden exposure
  • Build advanced Excel skills and utilize the Bloomberg Terminal

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a freshman, sophomore, or junior in an accredited undergraduate program
  • Coursework or experience in Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and general computer applications
  • Familiarity with AI tools and financial technology preferred
  • Bloomberg Terminal experience preferred
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, proactive, and team-focused mindset
  • SIE, Series 7, or Bloomberg certification are considered a plus, but not required

Program Details

  • Paid internship (weekly stipend)
  • Full-time, temporary summer position
  • Approximate hours:
    • Stamford, CT: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    • Irvine, CA: 5:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Relocation or housing assistance is not provided
