Broadcast Media Assistant

Broadcast, Media Relations & Digital Content Assistant (Seasonal)

 

The Columbus Clingstones, Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, are seeking a Seasonal Broadcast & Media Relations Assistant to join our communications department for the 2026 season. This position offers meaningful hands-on experience in broadcasting, media relations, digital media, and live game coverage.

Position Dates

Start Date: March 2026

End Date: September 2026

 

Candidates must be available for all 69 home games, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Traditional office hours are expected for road weeks. 

 

Job Responsibilities

Broadcasting:

  • Broadcast up to 3 innings of play-by-play for all 69 home games
  • Assist in producing elements for Clingstones' pregame show, including conducting pregame interviews with players and staff
  • Conduct on-field postgame interviews with players for in-park presentations
  • Host pregame and postgame shows as needed
  • Assist with broadcast setup and teardown

 

Media Relations: 

  • Assist in creating and updating daily game notes, stat packs, and lineup cards before each home game
  • Assist in annual baseball card production
  • Handle media credential requests and general media support
  • Assist in coordinating player and coach interview requests 
  • Draft postgame recaps for all 69 home games, assist with box score distribution
  • Write one feature story per homestand for use on team platforms
  • Assist in drafting, proofreading, and distributing press releases
  • Contribute writing and editing support for the annual media guide

 

Digital & Social Media: 

  • Assist in live-tweeting game coverage for all home and road games, including clipping highlights and copywriting
  • Log and organize photo and video content of games, media availability, and other events
  • Collaborate with the social media team to support a consistent brand voice

 

Qualifications: 

  • Prior baseball play-by-play experience at collegiate or professional level
  • Proficiency in writing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to conduct confident live interviews in pregame and postgame settings
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments
  • Video and audio editing experience is preferred
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Audition are preferred
  • Experience with MiLB web interface is a bonus
