Lunchroom Aide - Baird School
Work alongside our head cook to order, prepare and serve healthy school lunches at the Baird School in Burlington, VT. Enjoy part time, academic-day hours in this year-round position.
The Baird School provides an alternative educational environment for children ages 5-14 (grades K-8) whose needs cannot be met in a regular educational environment due to social, emotional, and/or behavioral challenges. Students engage in academic, social, emotional, and behavioral programming to develop skills/strategies that will allow them to succeed in the least restrictive educational environment available to them.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and break down for the lunchroom
- Place orders for school breakfast and lunch
- Safely handle food and maintain cleanliness of kitchen
- Prepare and serve food
- Restock and inventory food for soup and salad bar
- Label and put away left over food
- Pickup breakfast and lunch meals from designated location
- Routine completion of kitchen laundry
Requirements:
- Pass a background check including fingerprinting
- Valid driver’s license and use of personal vehicle, mileage is reimbursed
Structure:
- Part time, 15-17 hrs./week, ~3 hrs. daily
- Approximately 10:00am-1:00PM, M-F
- Starting at $20.00 an hour
- This position follows the school calendar, with 4 weeks of working in July
