Occupational Therapist

Developmental Pathways (DP) is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) in our Early Intervention Department, who will provide therapy services in children’s natural environments or via telehealth. The OT will provide skilled occupational therapy services/interventions to children ages 0-36 months with physical, neurological, genetic, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADL, and social/emotional deficits. This role will be responsible for adhering to the EI guidelines, documentation, and funding requirements. This role will also collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) for children on their caseload.

This is a community-based role, averaging 4–5 visits per day, 40 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, with a strong focus on relationship-building and developmental support. The position primarily serves Douglas County—one day each in Parker, Castle Pines, and Castle Rock, with occasional visits to Aurora.  You’ll need to hold (or be willing to obtain) Colorado OT licensure.

Additional Responsibilities

Use the Primary Service Provider Model to team with other therapeutic disciplines, service coordinators, and caregivers to develop and implement functional goals and strategies to enhance the child’s development

Develop and implement IFSPs to meet individualized family or child outcomes

May be asked to support categorical assessments and initial Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) development for children who are categorically eligible for Early Intervention services

Adhere to Medicaid regulations when this is a funding source (i.e. EVV)

Help families determine priorities for service

Perform standardized or play-based assessments and complete all required documentation of child’s progress toward IFSP goals

  • Perform consultative visits either alone or in consultation with other team members as appropriate
  • Develop and maintain working case files per department policies and procedures
  • Submit billing and supporting documentation timely
  • Assure paperwork submitted by other service providers, individuals in service and community partners is completed, distributed, and filed as required
  • Partner with service coordinators, Child Find teams, and other community partners who serve young children to deliver early intervention services
  • Attend and participate in IFSP and care coordination meetings; schedules and facilitates meetings as needed
  • Maintain EI Provider portal profile

Ensure adherence to Division for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities/DIDD rules and regulations and agency policies and procedures in provision of services. Assists in assuring full compliance with agency policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulatory guidelines

 

Requirements

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree from an accredited therapy program

Two years of experience in the relevant field

Specialty certification (ASHA or NBCOT)

Active DORA licensure in Colorado

Demonstrated experience with specific programmatic concepts, practices, and procedures

Personal vehicle in good operating condition for use during work as appropriate

Valid Colorado motor vehicle license and proof of motor vehicle insurance

Ability to meet our driving requirements - no suspensions/ no more than two tickets in the past three years

Must be able to meet physical demands to include bending or twisting of the body, lifting, standing time, and sitting time to include floor play/therapy, etc

Upon request, qualifying need, and approval, driving requirements may be waived in lieu of reliable transportation.

 

Preferred

Working knowledge of Medicaid and private insurance billing

Knowledge of rules and regulations for Early Intervention

Prefer additional experience in an area directly related to job assignment

Knowledge of rules and regulations for the Division of Developmental and Intellectual
