Sarasota Scullers Social Media Intern

Sarasota Scullers Youth Rowing Program, established in 1991, offers an exciting internship to a college undergraduate interested in real-world experience in creating and managing a social media presence for the organization.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in content creation, video/graphic/photo creation and managing posts on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram, and successful project management. This nationally-recognized juniors rowing organization, based in Osprey, FL, helps youths aged 10-18 years gain proficiency, accountability, self-confidence and team-building skills on and off water training led by Olympian head coach Bernhard Stomporowski and experienced assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Develop and curate engaging content (text, images, videos, etc.) for multiple social media platforms.
  • Social Media Management: Manage a social media calendar, schedule posts, and ensure timely content development and review with organization leaders.
  • Interpersonal Communication: Plan questions and conduct interviews–through in-person meetings, phone calls and Zoom–with youth participants, coaches, alumni and members’ parents.
  • Community Engagement: Monitor social media channels, review comments and messages, develop responses to feedback that foster a strong, positive brand.
  • Collaboration: Work with Sarasota Scullers’ coaches/youth rowers/parents/board members to brainstorm ideas, develop content strategies, and execute marketing campaigns for special events and programs.

This professional development opportunity is ideal for a college undergraduate majoring in communications, marketing or public relations. It will provide valuable networking and hands-on learning that will facilitate career development. Self-direction skills are critical for this virtual internship that requires approximately 4-6 hours/week.

A $250 stipend per semester will be awarded upon successful completion of the internship.

Interested candidates should submit a resume to Linda Dulye, board member/Sarasota Scullers, at ldulye@dulye.com.
