Banneker Partners invests in lower middle market enterprise software businesses with revenue from $5 million to $50 million. We make majority and minority investments with founders and management teams who are looking to scale their businesses through organic growth and inorganic expansion via highly strategic acquisitions. We are differentiated by our deep software experience, strong operational focus, and proprietary sourcing engine. We have over $2 billion of AUM and are currently investing out of our third institutional fund.  

Job Summary:  

Banneker Partners is hiring for a cohort of Summer 2027 interns that will be located in our Portland, OR office. This is a unique opportunity to work within a growing, software-focused private equity firm with an outstanding track record and a world-class team from top tech PE firms, including Vista Equity Partners. Exceptional performers will be considered for an Analyst position in our Portland office upon their graduation.

As part of the 10-week internship program (dates to be finalized, starting June 2027), interns will work with team members across both of our offices to gain exposure to, and involvement in, all aspects of deal execution and company transformation, from sourcing to execution to post-transaction operations. The internship program will also include targeted training administered by senior-level investors and operators at the firm.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work directly with deal-team members on the execution of investment opportunities (incl. due diligence and financial modeling)
• Preparing materials for Banneker's investment committee 
• Research target sectors to identify and recommend potential investment opportunities
• Support operational initiatives and monitoring across Banneker’s portfolio of companies
• As part of a small team, it is expected that interns will carry outsized responsibilities relative to other internship opportunities

Requirements:

• Targeted graduation date in Spring 2028 (i.e., eligible for full-time in the year following completion of the program)
• Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment; must be a mature, resourceful self-starter
• Team player with humility and integrity
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong intellectual curiosity and proactive approach to problem-solving
• Interest in technology and investing in enterprise software
• Demonstrated excellence in past internship experiences
• Rudimentary understanding of financial terms and industry
• Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
