Employee Engagement and Talent Management Intern

Organization & Team Overview

The Keystone Region Employee Engagement and Talent Management team is dedicated to fostering a positive and productive work environment.  We support and execute strategic initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction, strengthen labor relations, and promote talent development across the region. 

 

Role Description

This isn’t just an internship – it’s your chance to shape how the employees connect, grown and thrive across the entire region. 

 

As an Employee Engagement & Talent Management Intern, you will play a key role in supporting regional programs and initiatives that drive employee experience, engagement, and employee development.  This internship will offer hands-on exposure to core HR functions, including employee engagement, labor relations, talent management and general HR operations.

 

You’ll leave this internship with real-world HR experience, a stronger professional network and a clearer vision for your career path. 

 

What are some interesting problems the student will work on?

Analyzing survey data to uncover trends and root causes, recommend targeted actions to improve morale and connection.  Enhancing onboarding materials and gathering feedback to boost early employee experience.  Observing grievance and negotiations to understand common issues and resolution strategies.  Promoting underutilized career wellbeing tools and resources and recommending strategies.  Supporting cross-functional HR projects that improve workflow or employee experience.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Employee Engagement

Assist in the planning and execution of employee engagement initiatives and events.

Support the administration and analysis of employee surveys, including YourVoice and eNPS, to assess engagement levels and identify areas for improvement.

Review and interpret employee data, metrics, and trends to support organizational health reporting and strategic decision-making.

Contribute to the onboarding experience for new hires by supporting the Keystone New Hire Onboarding Program.

 

Labor Relations

Support efforts to maintain positive labor relations through effective communication between management and employees.

Assist in the preparation and documentation of labor agreements and negotiation materials.

Observe and participate in grievance resolution processes and labor contract negotiations to gain practical insights.

 

Talent Management

Assist in the development and implementation of programs aimed at enhancing employee retention and career wellbeing.

Participate in Talent Review processes, including meeting preparation, documentation, and recommendations.

Support initiatives that promote career development and internal mobility.

 

General Human Resources

Collaborate with the broader HR team on cross-functional projects and initiatives.

Perform administrative tasks to support HR operations while gaining exposure to the full scope of HR responsibilities.

Engage with various HR functions to build a comprehensive understanding of the employee lifecycle.

 

Preferred Skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, analytical mindset with attention to details, ability to handle confidential information with professionalism, interest in Human Resources, Employee Engagement, Labor Relations, and or Talent Development.

Innovative, Creative, and Growth Mindset

Microsoft Office Proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint), Copilot

Data Analytics a plus

Preferred Majors: Business, Human Resources, Social Sciences, Management, Communications or a related field. 

 

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university

Rising Junior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2027 - Spring 2028)

Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)

Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 1 through August 14, 2026

Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs

Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)
