Guest Experience Intern

Job Title:

Guest Experience Intern - Summer 2026

 

Summary and Attributes:

The Guest Experience Intern will support the operations team in delivering a world-class experience for athletes, coaches, and families at LakePoint Sports. This role focuses on ensuring that guests receive exceptional service, enjoy a safe and welcoming environment, and leave with a positive impression of the facility. The intern will gain hands-on experience in customer service, event planning, event operations, and facility management within a fast-paced sports environment. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain premium guest experience.
  • Overseeing all day-to-day as assigned.
  • Shadow all full-time members of the Operations Department.
  • Help with reconciling event/monthly labor reports for athletic trainers, security personnel, and employees, as well as other administrative duties.
  • Assist full-time staff with vendor and tenant coordination.
  • Create and foster positive relationships with all LakePoint team members.
  • Shadow the manager on duty during events and assist in overseeing part-time team members.
  • Attend event operations meetings and take informative notes.
  • Willingness to perform clerical responsibilities including answering calls, creating documents, sending emails, and updating the event information board when needed.
  • Greet and assist guests upon arrival, providing information about events, schedules, and amenities.
  • Monitor cleanliness and readiness of guest areas, reporting any maintenance or safety issues. 
  • Coordinate with event staff to ensure smooth execution of tournaments, games, and special events.
  • Be able to work cooperatively and lead in a group setting or by oneself with limited supervision to complete tasks.

Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisor and ensure thorough completion of any assigned tasks.

Qualifications: 

• Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Currently on track to receiving a Bachelor’s degree in sports management, parks and recreation, or a closely related field.

• Interest in business management, sports management, or a closely related field.
• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

• Proficient computer skills with the ability to work Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with large crowds.

Experience:  Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or event management is a plus.

Work Environment:

Required to work in a variety of weather conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings

Work Hours:

Regular attendance is a necessary job function required for this position. Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include long and odd hours as necessary. Schedule will be given to the intern by their supervisor and working long hours may vary depending on the season, program, or event.
