Counselor
At Safe Monroe, we are committed to providing a safe and caring environment that encourages healing and empowerment for anyone whose life has been impacted by domestic and sexual abuse. We strive to engage our community through awareness, advocacy, and prevention. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Domestic and Sexual Violence Counselor to join our team. The Counselor plays a critical role in educating and empowering victims/survivors while advocating for their needs within community systems.
The Counselor is responsible for providing individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, accompaniment, advocacy, and support to victims/survivors of domestic and sexual violence. The Counselor will educate victims/survivors on their rights and available resources, and advocate within community systems to address the dynamics and issues related to domestic violence and sexual assault. Services will be provided across multiple locations, including Safe Monroe’s offices and other community or partner sites as necessary.
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Sociology, or other humanities-related field) is required. Candidates must have a strong passion for our mission. We offer a competitive benefits package. Successful candidates must complete a mandatory 80-hour counselor/advocate training.
