Arts Leadership Fellow: Community Events and Admin

CNY Arts, the regional arts council that promotes, supports, and celebrates arts and culture in Central New York, is pleased to announce an Arts Leadership Fellow opportunity for an outstanding early-career professional (i.e., currently enrolled in an advanced degree program or recent graduate) who wishes to pursue a career in arts or nonprofit administration. 

 

This fellowship provides invaluable hands-on experience and on-site mentorship with CNY Arts staff. The role will support CNY Arts’ arts education initiatives, community events, and general operations / administration. 

 

The Arts Leadership Fellow is an on-site position paid $20/hr for up to 20 hours per week. The Fellow may exceed 20 with advance approval from the Administrative Manager. The position will report to the Administrative Manager and support the Administrative and Community Events Teams.

 

The Fellow’s duties may include but are not limited to:

 

Administrative

 

  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and transfer as necessary
  • Write and revise letters, newsletters, social media posts, and emails as assigned
  • Import constituent data into Bloomerang CRM (customer relations management)
  • Update and manage CRM information and data
  • Edit and update website as necessary
  • Build emails, forms, and newsletters in our email service tool linked to CRM
  • Create and update Asana task lists and tracking for programs
  • Support Board of Directors as needed, including with meeting minute transcriptions and compiling meeting materials.
  • Other tasks as assigned

     

Community Programming

  • Support administrative support for CNY Arts programs, including but not limited to
    • Art in the Atrium
    • Arts Education Conference/Workshops
    • On My Own Time
    • Syracuse Art Trail
    • Syracuse Prize
    • Dasher’s Magical Gift
  • Work closely with Community Events Manager to build cohesive strategies for community programs
  • Assist marketing team with graphics and copy for various community programming and events
  • Manage invites, correspondence, and ticketing for events as necessary
  • Research community members, constituents, and artists who may benefit from current or future events
  • Compile information about community event participants or prospective participants
  • Establish communications and build rapport with constituents, vendors, and other parties to ensure success of events
  • Plan and run live events as necessary, working on-site with Community Events Manager to create engaging experiences for attendees
