Application Consultant

The Application Consultant (AC) is key to the success of the worldwide TopoDOT user community. The AC combines TopoDOT product expertise with geospatial industry knowledge to identify and implement the optimal process solution for each client.

 

Account acquisition: The AC is critical to successfully communicating and demonstrating the TopoDOT value proposition to account prospects.

 

Account development: The AC will work with TopoDOT users to understand their operational and business models, objectives, and challenges. The AC will develop a comprehensive plan designed to implement the process meeting these challenges while coordinating with business development in identifying TopoDOT product and training transactional opportunities.

 

The AC is responsible for the execution of in-house and on-site training initiatives assigned by the director. In addition, the AC will contribute technical consulting services to internal TopoDOT process development initiatives contributing to meeting TSO and company-wide operational objectives.

 

Primary Responsibilities/ General Training & Support

  • Monitor and provide same-day response to in-bound support requests.
  • Assess support requirements and resolve immediate issues.
  • When necessary, schedule and execute online training programs to resolve issues.
  • Update and maintain documentation with Zendesk.
  • Inform Business Development of any product or training sales opportunities.

Account Acquisition Consulting Services

  • Coordinate with Business Development to align consulting objectives with account-acquisition opportunities — document objectives.
  • Contact account-acquisition prospects and schedule evaluation training.
  • Execute trial training programs, document, and report on progress.
  • Coordinate close with Business Development.
  • Follow up with onboarding training programs.

Account Development Consulting Services

  • Coordinate with Business Development to identify consulting objectives unique to each account.
  • Communicate the TopoDOT value proposition within the context of those objectives.
  • Develop a TopoDOT product/process implementation plan designed to meet objectives.
  • Identify sales opportunities within the plan context.
  • Execute remote or on-site TopoDOT product installation, training, and process implementation to meet the account’s operational objectives.
  • Coordinate with Business Development to pursue further TopoDOT process-integration opportunities.

Initiative Project Consulting Services

  • Identify, document, and share intelligence regarding product-development opportunities with the PD group.
  • Provide technical consulting support for development initiatives.
  • Evaluate and test performance of TopoDOT products as required.
  • Support development and maintenance of all aspects of the educational curriculum.

General

  • Operate effectively in a multi-task environment.
  • Prioritize tasks, document progress, and report to task owners.
  • Maintain a detailed schedule and calendar according to established TSO protocols.
  • Pursue continuous technical development within the context of TopoDOT products and related technology.
  • Travel in support of promotional and on-site training initiatives occasionally throughout the year.

What you will need to learn:

  • CAD with MicroStation — required. (Civil 3D familiarity is a plus.)
  • Point-cloud / LiDAR workflows. (Mobile/terrestrial/aerial, registration, QA/QC, feature extraction.)
  • Customer training & technical support experience (live demos, troubleshooting, documentation).

What you’ll do (highlights)

  • Deliver live trainings (on-site at HQ and virtual) focused on MicroStation + point-cloud workflows.
  • Provide responsive technical support, triage issues, and create concise how-to guides/videos.
  • Run evaluation/trial trainings for prospects and follow through with onboarding plans.
  • Collaborate with Product/PD on feedback, testing, and curriculum improvements.
