IT Technician

Reports To: Director of IT & AVL
Location: On-site, Eagle Sky of the Ozarks – Piedmont, Missouri
Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly

 

 

Position Summary

Eagle Sky of the Ozarks is seeking a skilled and dependable IT Technician to support the daily technology needs of our ministry. This role assists in maintaining the camp’s technology infrastructure, including computers, network systems, access points, printers, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and VOIP phones. The IT Technician will provide responsive technical support to staff, perform troubleshooting and maintenance tasks, and help ensure that all systems operate securely and efficiently.

Essential Functions

Mission & Values Alignment

  • Foster positive relationships with all staff, volunteers, and guests through a spirit of teamwork and service.

     

Technical Support & Maintenance

  • Provide hands-on support for all computers, printers, network devices, and peripherals.

     
  • Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting camp-wide network infrastructure, access points (APs), and Cisco systems.

     
  • Support VOIP phone systems, POS systems, and connected technology for offices, facilities, and program spaces.

     
  • Perform regular maintenance, updates, and system checks to ensure functionality and security.

     
  • Help maintain IT documentation, including device inventory, network maps, and support logs.

     
  • Set up new workstations, user accounts, and system access for staff as needed.

     

User Support & Communication

  • Respond promptly to IT help requests and provide clear, friendly communication with users.

     
  • Educate and assist staff on technology usage, best practices, and data security.

     
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure smooth technology use during events, retreats, and seasonal programs.

     

Security & Data Integrity

  • Follow IT policies to ensure the protection and confidentiality of data.

     
  • Support backup processes, security updates, and access control measures.

     
  • Report potential security issues or risks to the Director of IT & AVL immediately.

     

Collaboration & Cross-Departmental Support

  • Work closely with the AVL team during large events to ensure network and system readiness.

     
  • Assist in setup, teardown, or system support for ministry events requiring technology integration.

     
  • Support seasonal and full-time staff with technical setup, troubleshooting, and operational readiness.

     

 

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent hands-on experience).

     
  • 1–3 years of IT experience (internship, help desk, or field tech experience accepted).

     
  • Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems, networking concepts, and basic hardware repair.

     
  • Knowledge of Cisco systems, VOIP, and wireless networking is a plus.

     
  • Experience in a ministry, nonprofit, or camp setting is preferred but not required.

     

Technical Competencies

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.

     
  • Basic understanding of network switches, routers, access points, and firewalls.

     
  • Comfort with system imaging, installations, and software configuration.

     
  • Ability to follow IT best practices and maintain accurate documentation.

     
  • Willingness to learn and grow under the leadership of the Director of IT & AVL.

     

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, on-site position at Eagle Sky of the Ozarks.

     
  • Flexible schedule with occasional evening or weekend support as needed.

     
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move equipment as needed.

     
  • Comfortable working in both office and camp environments (indoor/outdoor).

     

Compensation & Benefits
