Department Overview 

In the Independent Contractor Division (ICD), we serve as dedicated partners to our independent business owners and financial advisors, helping them grow, navigate challenges, and deliver meaningful impact for their clients, associates and communities.  We serve as the bridge between advisors and the home office, ensuring that every interaction strengthens trust, efficiency, and growth.  We are a highly collaborative and energetic relationship management team who is at the beginning of a multi-year transformation to optimize the overall owner/branch/FA experience, create a divisional management service model, promote consistency and standardization across the divisions and create opportunities for future business growth. 

 

Job Summary 

The summer associate will play an important role by supporting key data, client and meeting analytics projects, working alongside many ICD and Private Client Group (PCG) leaders who are passionate about building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service to our advisors.  They will also participate in key department meetings, develop strategy updates and dashboards, and help create field tools and advisor snapshots that will be piloted and delivered throughout the division.  Throughout the summer, the summer associate will regularly use Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and other key RJ systems.  

 

The summer associate position is a temporary role. 

 

Start Date: Monday, June 1, 2026 

End Date: Friday, August 7, 2026 

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Advisor Relationship Data Project - Help document and organize advisor profiles, personal facts, and interests to support the Connection service model and continuity of relationship building.  Gather data, standardize advisor factsheets, and input information into Salesforce or other CRM systems. 
  • CRM Adoption & Best Practices Documentation - Support the documentation of best practices for using Salesforce to track and measure advisor relationship management.  Interview divisional team members, compile usage tips, create user guides, and help train staff on advanced CRM features. 
  • Content Library & Internal Communications - Assist in developing and organizing a content library for internal communications, educational resources, and program materials.  Curate, categorize, and upload content; help design templates for newsletters or event communications. 
  • KPI Tracking & Dashboard Support - Help track key performance indicators (KPIs) and support the development or maintenance of dashboards for business solutions and productivity insights.  Collect data, update dashboards, and prepare summary reports for divisional management.  
  • Program & Event Support (Business Momentum Program) - Assist with the logistics, communications, and feedback collection for the Business Momentum Program or other advisor-facing events.  Coordinate event details, manage participant lists, collect and analyze survey feedback, and help with follow-up communications. 
  • Recruiting Process Documentation - Document best practices and protocols for recruiting activities, including the creation of flow charts and process guides.  Interview stakeholders, map out recruiting touchpoints, and create visual aids for onboarding and recruiting processes.  
  • Survey & Feedback Analysis - Design and analyze surveys for advisors, mentors, and program participants to assess satisfaction and gather suggestions for improvement.  Draft survey questions, distribute surveys, analyze results, and present findings to the ICD Operations team.  
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.  

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

Knowledge of:

  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and their role in relationship management  
  • Awareness of data analysis concepts and the importance of KPIs in business decision-making  
  • Knowledge of internal communications best practices and content management  
  • Understanding of the financial services industry (a plus, but not required) 

 

Skill in

  • Skill in organizing and managing data (e.g., using Excel, PowerBI and Salesforce)  
  • Strong written communication skills for documentation, guides, and internal communications  
  • Ability to create clear process maps, flowcharts, or visual aids (e.g., using PowerPoint, Visio, etc)  
  • Skill in conducting surveys and analyzing feedback data  
  • Proficiency in preparing summary reports and presentations

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements 

  • Freshman or Sophomore standing (December 2027-May 2029 graduates) pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.  
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources. 
  • Eligible applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future (including beyond OPT/EAD).
