Category Management Intern

The Category Management Internship is a great opportunity to gain hands-on merchandising experience while working side by side with professionals from all levels in our Waltham, MA office. In this role you will be an integral part of the merchandising team and supporting the Category Manager in delivering budgeted metrics to drive profitability and sales for the company. We offer a flexible work environment. This means working up to 2 days a week remotely and the rest of the time in the office.

YOUR ROLE, YOUR IMPACT

  • This role will take direction from the Category Manager in supporting all Category Management responsibilities, including: item set-up process (start to finish) and maintenance, building and managing planogram assortment trackers, and working with all cross-functional partners 
  • Assisting with the assortment building and tracking assortment across all business unit counterparts 
  • Work closely with cross functional teams on managing any assortment changes (new item set up, order restrictions, discontinued/end-of-life items, etc.) 
  • Submitting any updates to the PriceBook team (costs, retails, markdowns, etc.) 
  • Support Category Manager in all necessary prep work and execution for monthly business reviews 
  • Responsible for any ad hoc reporting as requested by Category Manager 
  • Translate social media insights into actionable recommendations for category management decisions 

 

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. V-lookups, Pivot Tables, Concatenate are some skills you will use during your internship. 
  • Ability to prioritize work, follow through on requests, take initiative and meet deadlines. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact in team environment and foster client relationships. 
  • Strong curiosity about consumer behavior and what drives purchasing decisions. 
  • Self-Starter that takes the initiative to ask questions. 
  • Ability to apply knowledge learned in classroom to work. 
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management or Merchandising

Pay Range

 

$16.03 - $20.46

 

 

The pay range for this position is outlined above. The final amount offered at the start of employment is determined based on factors including, but not limited to, experience level, knowledge, skills, abilities and geographic location, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
