Community Integration Skills Instructor
Job Description: As a Skills Instructor/Coach, you will be responsible for picking up and driving up to 3 adults with developmental disabilities on a daily basis and providing the participants with guidance regarding community integration, social recreation/leisure skills, shopping in natural environments, money management, personal health and hygiene, use of community resources, community safety, fun community activities and how to utilize public transportation.
Compensation: $20.00/hour.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (35 hours/week)
Requirements:
- High school or equivalent
- Experience assisting special needs individuals; 1 year.
- Driver’s License. Please be advised that this position will require driving your personal vehicle and proper vehicle insurance therefore all openings require a valid CA Driver's License and 3 years of verifiable driving history.
- Pass a background fingerprinting clearance from DOJ/FBI Community Care Licensing/Dept. of Social Services
- Willing to work in the Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and Simi Valley area.
- The Community Integration program is governed by Department of Transportation/DOT Regulations which require candidates hired for the position to participate in an initial drug testing under DOT and also participate in random selection testing.
