Event Staff

The Town of Herndon boasts a unique balance of strong sense of community and being a next generation small town and each employee is pivotal in providing exceptional services to our citizens. The Town has an immediate need for an Event Staff in the Parks and Recreation department.

Overview: We are looking for motivated and team-oriented individuals to assist with the seamless running of our events. We have a variety of events throughout the year that include the Herndon Homecoming Parade, Turkey Trot 5k, Halloween event, Holiday Arts and Crafts Festival, Egg Hunt, 4th of July and variety of smaller community events.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in set up including chairs, tables, and tents as needed
• Provide customer service throughout to event goers
• Assist in clean up at the end of the event.

Qualifications:

• Provide effective customer service
• Ability to lift 35lbs,
• Comfortable working outdoors
• Strong decision-making skills
• Spanish speaking skills preferred
• CPR & First Aid certified preferred

• Running races
• Kids triathlon
• Easter egg hunt
• Nature Fest
• Homecoming Parade
• Herndon Festival

Due to the nature of a government providing services to the public all duties of this position are required to be fulfilled at the designated worksite in the town. No remote work is available.
