OffCampusReview helps students make smarter housing decisions through verified, student-written reviews of off-campus landlords and properties. Think RateMyProfessor, but for where you live. Our mission is to bring transparency, accountability, and fairness to student housing — and we’re building it with students, for students.

 

Role Overview

We’re looking for a curious, detail-oriented, research-driven student to join OffCampusReview as a Market Research & Insights Intern. You’ll help us figure out where to grow next and how to win in each campus market by researching student housing ecosystems, competitor landscapes, and the biggest problems students face when renting off-campus.

Your work will directly influence OCR’s campus expansion strategy, marketing angles, and product priorities. This role is perfect for students interested in consulting, research, business strategy, analytics, marketing strategy, entrepreneurship, or product.

 

What You’ll Do

Campus & Market Research

  • Identify the best places and communities to reach students at your school (GroupMe, Discord, clubs, Greek life, campus orgs, student newspaper, Reddit, etc.)
  • Run small growth experiments weekly to drive awareness and review submissions
  • Partner with student org leaders and community admins to get OCR in front of the right people

Research That Turns Into Results

  • Find out how students at your school currently pick housing and who influences those decisions
  • Map your campus housing ecosystem: major landlords, hot neighborhoods, apartments students talk about most
  • Identify the biggest student housing pain points and use them as angles for outreach

Tracking & Insights

  • Track each method you try: what you did, where you posted, how many signups/reviews it produced
  • Send a weekly “What worked / What didn’t / What I’m testing next” update
  • Turn your findings into a repeatable playbook we can copy to other campuses

Mentorship & Collaboration

  • Work directly with a CPA mentor to understand financial and operational analytics
  • Learn how early-stage startups use data to drive product choices and campus expansion
  • Work closely with the founders and cross-functional teams when needed

Who We’re Looking For

  • Resourceful, outgoing, and willing to test ideas fast
  • Comfortable talking to people and asking for help/partnerships
  • Organized enough to track results and report them clearly
  • Excited to build something meaningful and visible on your campus

Time Commitment

  • ~3–5 hours per week (flexible around exams and academic schedules)
  • Occasional check-ins with the OCR team
  • Project-based flexibility depending on workload and campus activity
