Energy Engineer

Ross Energy Consulting seeks an energy engineer to support project execution, and internal logistics, and help provide comprehensive building solutions for our clients. The ideal candidate will have HVAC, math, computer science, engineering and/or other energy / sustainability-related background. Responsibilities

  • Energy Audit, Retro-Commissioning (RCx) and Benchmarking Project Execution
  • Support NYSERDA Sponsored Building Operations and Maintenance Training
  • Assist with Sustainable Property Development projects including design and construction management of renewable energy, high-performance HVAC, irrigation, wastewater, pond, and storage infrastructure
  • Assist with testing deployment of a remote video platform with augmented reality features and digitization of field forms
  • Research new technologies and perform cost feasibility analyses
  • Research and maintain company knowledge base of utility, government, and other incentive programs

 

Requirements

  • 3-6 years in Engineering, HVAC, Plumbing, or other Building Science related field
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn, and have ability to work independently and in teams
  • Highly organized with a demonstrated ability to handle several concurrent tasks
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and / or other spreadsheet software
  • Familiarity with NYC Transit is a must, or having your own vehicle is even better
  • Programming skills and or knowledge of JSON, Javascript, Python, etc. are preferred but not required
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing, and/or HVAC skills are preferred but not required
  • The position is available immediately, is mostly remote, and will be based in the NYC metro area
