Wilderness Trip Leader (Paid Internship Available)
Camp Winnebago is seeking a motivated Wilderness Trip Leader to plan and lead overnight hiking and canoe trips for boys ages 8–15. This role is ideal for an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys leadership, mentorship, and creating meaningful wilderness experiences for youth.
Trip Leaders guide small groups on 2–5 day adventures throughout Maine and New Hampshire while ensuring safety, organization, and a positive camper experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise multi-day hiking and canoe trips
Plan routes, food, gear, and trip logistics
Teach outdoor living skills, teamwork, and confidence
Model strong leadership, decision-making, and camp values
Collaborate with camp staff and participate in camp life when not on trips
Qualifications
Experience in outdoor leadership (guiding, college outdoor programs, Scouting, camps, etc.)
Strong group management and outdoor skills
Comfort working with children ages 8–15
Organized, adaptable, and safety-focused mindset
Training & Certifications
WFA (Wilderness First Aid) certification provided
Maine Trip Leader certification provided
