Bookkeeper
Founded in 1954, Fountain, Arrington, Bass, Mercer & Lee is located on the north side of Columbus, Georgia, just a short commute from Auburn or Opelika. Our Firm services clients throughout the East Central Alabama and West Central Georgia area. We are always looking for the best talent to assist our firm in providing exceptional service to our clients.
We are looking for a full-time, on-site, bookkeeper with the following qualifications:
- 3-5 years within Bookkeeping.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
- Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation.
- Proficient in the filing of sales and use tax returns, payroll tax returns, business property and licensing returns.
- Strong understanding of the preparation of financial statements, business and income tax worksheets and computations.
- Self-motivated to work independently and balance workload assignments within time constraints.
- Strong ability to solve complex problems and concepts.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, friendly presence and team-oriented mindset.
- Self-directed and willing to take initiative.
- Proficient with accounting software including a strong knowledge of QuickBooks desktop and QuickBooks online.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in financial records.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
