Elementary Teacher
Purpose Plan and facilitate maximum student learning in core and specialized curricular areas, leading and instructing each student to master district outcomes, encouraging enthusiasm for knowledge acquisition.
Reports to Building Principal
Salary Per Negotiated Agreement Salary Schedule, commensurate with degree and experience
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and certification by the Kansas State Board of Education
• Health and Inoculation Certificate on file
• Demonstrates excellence in teaching and instructional strategies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements
• Requires prolonged sitting or standing, and use of equipment including repetitive motions and
computer eye fatigue
Work Environment
• Ability to handle a fast-paced, intense work environment
• Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions
Essential Functions
• Plans individual and group curriculum/instruction
• Teaches/facilitates learning using various instructional methods
• Promotes study habits
• Creates and sustains an environment that enhances learning
• Completes grading, record keeping, and reporting
• Encourages communication with parents
• Prepares activities that involve the public
