Florida Botanical Gardens Winter/Spring Internship

The Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation is seeking an intern for the 12 week period of January 26th through April 6th . The tasks to be performed are varied with the primary focus being related to stewardship of the Majeed Discovery Garden (MDG). This is a children's discovery garden with educational and artistic elements designed for ages 3-12. 
Duties include the following:
Pruning of the trees, shrubs and plants
General weeding including learning to identify and remove invasive plants
Cultivate the “Old Florida” vegetable garden so children can get hands on with food
Become stewards of the wetlands mitigation area and stormwater pond
Engage in digital media with our “What's in Bloom” photo blog by identifying and photographing plants in bloom for the Foundation website 
Daily clean-up of play material left by children
Assistance to the Children’s Garden Educator with set-up, breakdown and operation of programs
Occasional engagement of visitors to inquire about their experience in the MDG
General observations and reporting of any safety issues or concerns
 

In addition to the work in the MDG, support to other Foundation Staff will involve other tasks at the direction of the Executive Director including the following:
Assistance to the Gift Shop Manager
General office tasks and running errands                                                         Making flyers and presentations using Canva
