Assistant Project Manager (Construction)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Project Manager plays a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of projects initiated by various teams. Reporting to the Company's President, this position is essential in managing all aspects of project planning, execution, and monitoring. The Assistant Project Manager will serve as the central point of contact for the Wholesale, Service, and Project Management departments. Additionally, the employee will lead projects initiated by the Company’s remote estimator. By working closely with each group, the Assistant Project Manager will make sure that all project information is accurate, complete, and ready for handover.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with the project contact to ensure the required material is ordered correctly, timelines are aligned, and the material is received on time.
  • Assist with project scheduling across all departments to ensure priority projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Assist with budget tracking to ensure projects are properly costed, manpower hours are accurately recorded, and material costs are tracked correctly.
  • Coordinate project information exchange between the project contact and Glasco’s Superintendent, Service Manager, and Fabrication Supervisor.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by being responsive, professional, and proactive in communication, setting clear expectations, and following through on commitments.
  • Assist with creating safety documentation and managing distribution.
  • Assist with preparing project submittals.
  • Process insurance documents as required.
  • Process warranty documents as required.
  • Complete project closeout documents for each project.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a strong preference for Construction Management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for interacting with team members, stakeholders, contractors, and customers.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation and data entry.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, including identifying issues and proposing potential solutions.
  • Familiarity with project management concepts and tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset toward workload management, eager to ask questions, bring forward ideas for process improvements, and take ownership as responsibilities grow.
