Video Production Intern
Meds & Food for Kids (MFK), a nonprofit organization based in St. Louis and Haiti, is offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic nonprofit Communications team. The Video Production Intern will support MFK’s mission of feeding malnourished children and pregnant and nursing mothers in Haiti with food produced at our factory in Cap-Haitien, Haiti.
You will learn about the effective use of video in a nonprofit setting from a Director of Development who is also a videographer and editor. The primary responsibilities of the position are editing videos for social media and the website, and assisting with organizing the video library. You will receive a $1,000 stipend for the semester, and academic credit can be arranged through your university. The position is a good fit for students or recent graduates with majors in Film and Video Production, Mass Communications, TV Journalism, and Digital Media Studies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Edit short videos for social media using existing footage.
- Assist with occasional in-house video shoots.
- Help strategize the best use of video for engaging audiences.
- Assist with organizing a stock video library.
- Attend and assist with development events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A reliable laptop and cell phone are needed and will not be provided. (Access to MFK’s subscription to Adobe Premiere Pro will be provided.)
- The ability to work primarily in-person at our office in Webster Groves.
- Willingness to attend and help at occasional events held on weekends or in the evening.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent video editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Understanding of the principles of cinematography.
- Willingness to accept constructive feedback and make changes as requested.
- Proficient in Google Workspace.
- Discretion when dealing with sensitive issues and information.
Commitment & Compensation
Expect to devote 8 to 16 hours per week for one semester. We offer a flexible schedule to meet your needs as a student. You will be compensated $1,000 for a semester, and academic credit can be arranged through your university.
