Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Full-Time or Part-Time Position Available

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. In this role, you'll work alongside licensed occupational therapists to help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. Responsibilities

  • Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients across various settings (in home and in clinic sessions)
  • Help patients perform therapeutic activities and exercises to improve functional abilities
  • Monitor and document patient progress, reporting observations to the supervising occupational therapist
  • Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques and equipment use
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Set up treatment areas and maintain equipment in proper working condition

Qualifications

  • Current COTA certification and state licensure
  • Associate degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Reliable transportation with valid driver's license (mileage reimbursement provided)
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
