Interior Design Internship

About the job:

Interior Design Internship – Jarret Yoshida, Inc.
Location: 51 MacDonough St, Brooklyn, NY (Near Nostrand Ave Subway & LIRR)
Format: Hybrid – mostly on-site
Schedule: ~4 days/week (flexible around school schedule)
Compensation: Unpaid, but for academic credit; transportation and meals are covered on in-office days (approx. $500–$700/month)

About Us:

Jarret Yoshida Inc. is a Brooklyn-based interior design firm with clients across NYC, LA, D.C., Hawaii, and beyond. We believe internships should be meaningful—not mindless. You won’t be stuck organizing fabric samples all day or doing repetitive CAD work. Instead, you’ll take part in real design work from concept to execution, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic, high-end studio.

What You’ll Do:
Design & Drafting: Floor plans, furniture layouts, elevations, renderings, and client presentations
Client & Vendor Coordination: Purchasing, order tracking, quotes, and logistics
On-Site Experience: Measuring, documenting progress, supporting installations and meetings
Research & Sourcing: Exploring trends, vendors, materials
Showroom Visits: Sourcing at the D&D Building, NYDC, and other design centers
Styling & Photography Prep: Assisting with staging and shoot preparation
Admin Support: Helping designers with meetings, errands, and project support
