Clinical Social Worker

Reports to the Executive Director and works in collaboration with the COMPACT Mental Health Team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Social Worker will be responsible for providing trauma-informed mental health services to youth that referred to any of its programs including Community Assessment Team, Juvenile Diversion, Alternatives to Detention, and Achievement Center North youth and families. Services will be in keeping with agency goals, objectives, mission, and within a team framework. The Social Worker is responsible for working with the client and team in developing and meeting goals and objectives.

 

 

DUTIES:

• Provide mental health assessments for identified youth and develop treatment plans including individual youth goals and objectives

• Provide a range of trauma-informed services to program clients that may include individual, family, and group counseling, wraparound services, and other services relative to program and team goals and objectives.

• Participate in training and implement various evidence-based therapeutic models, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to fidelity.

• Conduct home visits, school visits, field visits, in addition to office visits to best meet the needs of the youth and family. Coordinate with Probation and other public and private organizations and individuals, as necessary to effectively serve participants (e.g. progress reports to referral sources, client referrals to other agencies).

• Participate in Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings with other team members.

• Maintain case records and client files in the Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database or other Data Management Systems as required by COMPACT and its funding sources.

• Appropriate coordination of contacts with other public and private organizations and individuals, as necessary to effectively serve clients. Monthly statistical reports of services provided as required by COMPACT.

• Outreach to target population in order to effectively reach those in need of services.

• Participation in special projects and activities as related to agency’s goals and objectives

• Participation in agency special events, such as fundraisers, annual meetings, and open houses.

• Crisis intervention services, and referrals to telephone and walk in persons.

• Participation and assistance in implementing program components.

• Ability to work with a diverse cultural population and exercise independent judgement.

• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and Mental Health Supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Masters in Social Work or Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, or in

progress of, REQUIRED

· A current Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW), or Marriage and Family

Therapist Intern (IMF) registration, with a Board of Behavior Science (BBS)

registration, or in progress of, REQUIRED

· Bilingual in Spanish, STRONGLY preferred

· 2 years experience counseling youth with a history of justice-system involvement

or other forms of trauma. Experience should preferably have been in a

community-based or neighborhood service organization, preferred.

· Experience in the areas of individual, group, and family counseling, gender-specific services, outreach, community education and development, advocacy and case management, preferred.

· Ability to work with a diverse cultural population, required.
