Role Overview
As the Communications & Marketing Intern, you will support internal communications, board engagement, fundraising operations, and program storytelling. This role is well-suited for students with prior experience in communications, marketing, or nonprofit work who want exposure to strategic communications, board operations, and development support.
You will work closely with leadership and play a key role in keeping internal and external communications organized and professional. Strong performance may lead to expanded responsibilities or a full-time opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Board Communications Support
- Assist with drafting board communications using approved templates
- Help prepare board meeting materials, agendas, and follow-up notes
- Maintain organized board trackers, calendars, and document folders
Communications & Marketing Support
- Assist with drafting and organizing communications related to programs and initiatives
- Help prepare internal and external updates, announcements, and summaries
- Support coordination of communications calendars and trackers
Fundraising & Development Support
- Help maintain donor and outreach trackers
- Assist with logging follow-ups and deadlines
- Support preparation of briefing materials for donor meetings
- Research grant opportunities and track application requirements
Fellowship & Mentorship Program Support
- Assist with tracking participants, timelines, and milestones
- Help prepare internal summaries and meeting notes
- Maintain organized program documentation
Newsletter Support
- Assist with gathering highlights from programs, events, and milestones
- Compile content briefs to support newsletter drafting
- Prepare materials for internal review
Ideal Candidate
- Prior internship, volunteer, or leadership experience
- Interest in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or global education
- Strong writing, organization, and attention to detail
- Professional, reliable, and open to feedback
