Outreach and Education Intern

Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Academy is one of the three councils of Inteleos, a global health nonprofit that supports advanced education and certification for clinicians around the world. POCUS Academy is seeking two remote, unpaid volunteer interns to support projects in our global assessment, outreach, education, and governance pillars to engage and educate health professionals to advance the universal standard of healthcare.  

 

Volunteer Intern Projects include:  

  • Supporting and refining the sales strategy
  • Implementing global marketing and communications efforts including but not limited to creating new marketing collateral, drafting social media post and templated communications (emails, press release, etc.)
  • Conducting global and domestic clinical education market and user experience research
  • Supporting Instructional Design efforts by modifying existing educational products and assisting with the development of new offerings
  • Supporting corporate outreach and administrative efforts to advance organizations mission

 

Learning Outcomes: 

  • Interns will develop work habits and attitudes necessary for job success.
  • Interns will develop communication, interpersonal and other critical skills.
  • Interns will apply research skills to outreach projects
  • Interns will set priorities and manage time in Asana, a project management tool.

 

Interns must be current, upcoming, or recently graduated students. All applicants must submit current resume, and exhibit some experience/interest in public health, instructional design and working with nongovernmental organizations (NGO). Interns should be self-starter, and comfortable with fast-paced start-up work environment.  

 

This posting will be refreshed as the program evolves. The posting will be available for about one month on Handshake starting 6 weeks in advance of the volunteer intern term. 

 

The intern will be supervised and given feedback by Tiffany Claiborne, Outreach Specialist. Feedback will be given during regular one on ones as well as a final evaluation in addition to any required evaluation by the student's institution.
