Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable Functional Lead to support end-to-end software implementation projects, ensuring that business requirements are clearly understood, properly documented, and thoroughly validated through quality assurance testing. This role works directly with customers, internal teams, and developers to translate business needs into actionable functional specifications, oversee testing activities, and drive successful, high-quality solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Implementation & Customer Engagement

  • Serve as the primary functional point of contact for customers during implementation projects.
     
  • Facilitate discovery sessions to understand business needs, workflows, pain points, and priorities.
     
  • Translate customer requirements into clear, detailed functional specifications and user stories.
     
  • Guide customers through implementation phases, ensuring alignment on scope, milestones, and expectations.

     

Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria for new features, integrations, and configurations.
     
  • Perform functional, regression, and user acceptance testing to validate solution quality.
     
  • Document defects with precision and collaborate closely with developers to support rapid resolution.
     
  • Ensure testing outcomes align with customer requirements and implementation goals.

     

Project & Workstream Management

  • Support multiple concurrent implementation projects and workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
     
  • Prioritize tasks based on business impact, customer timelines, and technical dependencies.
     
  • Provide regular status updates, identify risks, and proactively recommend mitigation strategies.
     
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across implementation and QA processes.

     

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in related field
  • 3+ years experience in software implementation, quality Assurance Testing, business analysis, or functional consulting.
    Strong understanding of the software implementation life cycle (requirements gathering, configuration, testing, deployment, adoption).
  • 3+ years experience developing test plans, test scripts, and managing QA processes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate requirements to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Salary Range $57,000 to $68,000 based on qualifications and experience

     

Preferred

  • Experience working in SaaS, enterprise software, or customer-facing implementation roles.
     
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, user story writing, and backlog management.
     
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar.
     
  • Background in customer support, business operations, or technical analysis.
