Summer Accounting Intern
The Summer Accounting internship will assist the Finance department at the City of Grand Forks with preparing the 2027 Mayor’s Budget. This intern will interact with other departments in helping to piece the budget together. The intern will also prepare materials for City Council presentations. Full-time summer internship. Accounting or Finance majors preferred. EEO Employer.

TIME & DURATION:
Full time (up to 40 hours per week) during Summer.
ELIGIBILITY: Candidates seeking to be considered for an Internship must meet or comply with the following requirements:
- Is currently enrolled in an accredited College or University as a full or part-time student.
- Has a current minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Able to work 20-40 hours per week not to exceed a maximum of 40 hours per week (typically between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday).
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Preference will be given to those candidates working towards a bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates selected for an Internship will be expected to comply with all City and Department rules and regulations. In addition, candidates will be expected to:
- Be a self-starter of good moral character and a strong work ethic.
- Possess strong communication and organizational skills.
- Be detail orientated, with problem solving and analytical skills.
- Be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with associates and supervisors.
- Have the ability to multi-task
- Show proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

EXPECTATIONS: Candidates selected for an Internship will be expected to comply with all City and Department rules and regulations. In addition, candidates will be expected to:
- Wear appropriate business casual attire during working hours.
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner.
- Maintain the confidentiality of any information obtained through the Internship Program.
- Record their time daily by clocking in and out each day and manage schedule with assigned Division Internship Mentor.
