Multi-Platform Sports Journalist

WPSD Local 6, the NBC affiliate in Paducah, KY, The Paducah Sun and our affiliated newspapers are hiring a Multi-Platform Sports Journalist.

You will cover Murray State’s championship men’s and women’s basketball programs year-round by reporting and writing for our newspapers, magazines, websites, television newscasts and social media. 

As a storyteller, you know how to balance hard news reporting with the emotional stories of the people that make up our communities. You are a writer who can go beyond the assignment file and enterprise important stories. You look beyond the event in front of you and find the effects this event will have on the communities about which you report. Your work will be creative, compelling, and relatable content that appears across our network of newspapers in western Kentucky and NBC affiliate WPSD Local 6. The ideal candidate will work remotely in Murray, Kentucky, but time will need to be spent at WPSD Local 6 in Paducah, Kentucky. A strong knowledge of Murray State Athletics is encouraged but not required.
