                The mission of Women At Risk International (WAR, International) is to address the many risk issues that face women and children today. The reality is that these risks are constantly changing, and new research is continually presenting itself. Research interns search for the most credible research to share with the public and to spur on the growth of WAR’s programs. Interns may be asked to research specific nations, states, or cities, finding statistics, studies, and implications concerning trafficking, education, abuse, etc. As we better understand the risks that women and children face, we will better be able to address them.

 

Duties may include:

  • Research purpose of developing programs (both international and domestic)
  • Update current program information 
  • Research a variety of resources through various platforms
  • Discover and compile statistics concerning women’s risk issues
  • Research trends in international development 
  • File and enter research results 
  • Effectively communicate research to necessary parties 
  • Proofread and double-check existing research 
  • Maintain key documents/boilerplate
  • Update state by state resources  and  trafficking in the news fact sheets by state 
  • Contextualize data within the WAR mission framework

 

Qualifications: 

  • Self-paced problem solver 
  • Ability to shift direction and handle multiple projects 
  • Desire for thoroughness, accuracy, and truth 
  • Willingness to actively contribute to new projects, suggest ideas, and brainstorm 
  • Writing skills strongly preferred
  • Understanding of reliable research and sourcing
  • Ability to concisely and clearly compile data necessary for a variety of projects
  • Must be able to connect the results and ramifications of sources to one another
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel

 

General Qualifications: 

Candidates must be committed WAR, Int’l's mission to lift women at risk to lives of dignity and passionate about helping rescue, redeem, and restore women overseas.  Candidates must be flexible, punctual, thorough, courteous, and comfortable interacting with staff, volunteers, and constituents.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and internet search engines required.  Must have own transportation to office.  Dress is business casual.
