Assistant Preschool Teacher 

Larksong Preschool is seeking compassionate, loving, hard-working and strong communicators to join our team of preschool teachers. We are a small Waldorf-inspired early childhood program located in South Minneapolis, with two in-home mixed-age locations: LARKSONG PRESCHOOL and LARKSONG LITTLE HOUSE. We provide a mixed-age toddler/preschool program for children 2 to 6 years old, and a summer camp program for children ages 2-8.

Our mission: Young children are living in a world of wonder and imagination, and are continuously growing and learning through imitation, play, and sensory experiences. At Larksong, we have created an atmosphere that supports the young child’s growth by providing a steady rhythm of daily artistic activities, imaginative play, circle time, stories and everyday practical work. We nurture their physical bodies through healthy movement and organic meals that we prepare together. We also support a healthy relationship to nature and the changing seasons through outdoor play, gardening, walks through the neighborhoods and nearby parks, and celebrating seasonal festivals as a community. Lastly, we aim to foster relationships based on kindness, love and respect for all people and creatures of the earth.

Assistant teaching hours are 8:15-1:00, Monday – Friday. We follow the Minneapolis Public school calendar. There will be between 10-14 children per day. Waldorf experience is not required, but a willingness to learn Waldorf teaching methods is a must!

Clear, timely Communication

Love of working with children

Flexibility, helpfulness, and willingness to jump in and be supportive

Physically able and willing to do cleaning (sweeping, vacuuming etc)
