Job Description: Mentor Role at Ivy Brothers
Position Overview: Ivy Brothers is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Counselor/Consultant/Tutor to join our prestigious college admissions agency for our remote and part-time role. This role requires a professional who can provide strategic guidance and personalized support to students aiming for top-tier universities. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in college admissions processes, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping students achieve their academic and personal goals. For this role, we're mainly looking for someone who graduated from undergrad.
Also, we're in need of someone who can start quickly to work on students' college essays. This will be in the form of a flat rate based on number of schools' essays.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized college counseling to students, guiding them through the entire application process from school selection to final submissions.
Assist students in crafting compelling personal narratives and polishing application essays.
Conduct in-depth assessments of students’ profiles, including academics, extracurricular activities, and leadership experiences, to highlight strengths and areas for improvement.
Keep up-to-date with trends in college admissions and convey insights to students and parents.
Foster strong relationships with students and parents
Provide honest, strategic advice aligned with Ivy Brothers' commitment to clear and direct communication.
Qualifications:
Graduated from undergrad
Bachelor’s degree from a prestigious university; Master’s degree preferred.
In-depth knowledge of college admissions requirements and a proven track record of successful student placements.
Exceptional writing and editing skills to support essay and application review.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with high-achieving students and families.
Experience with diverse application platforms (e.g., Common App, Coalition App).
Passion for education, mentoring, and student development.
Be great at talking to parents and students.
It's a Plus if You:
Can help students do high school level research
Can help students carry out passion projects, giving them high level guidance on how to do a project in their community related to their interests
