    New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

The Electric Pricing and Customer Program (EPCP) Branch within the Public Advocates Office is seeking a Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst (PURA) I to join its Customer Programs team. The Public Advocate's Office is the independent consumer advocate at the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).

Under the supervision of the Program and Project Supervisor, the successful candidate will conduct economic, financial, and policy research and analysis related to distributed energy resources (DERs), with an emphasis on renewable generation and energy efficiency. The incumbent will take a role in research and analysis as well as write reports, testimony, and other advocacy materials and make recommendations to senior staff and management. The analyst will also represent ratepayer interests in workshops, working groups, industry and stakeholder meetings, legislative hearings, or in other agency forums.

This is a hybrid position that will require the selected candidate to report to their assigned headquarter office a minimum of two (2) days a week. Hybrid positions may be eligible for telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. In accordance with CPUC Telework Policy, telework arrangements are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time.
