Retail Merchandise Intern

Position: Retail Merchandise Intern                                                                        

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt                                                                                       

Reports To: GM of Merchandise                                                                             

Location: Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory                                                

Pay: $15.00 
 

Position Summary: 

Support role to General Manager of Merchandise at Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory Retail Department. This position assists with daily merchandise flow from warehouse to retail sales floor ensuring every visitor has access to browse and purchase any available retail products. Merchandising of all products in a timely, accurate and visually appealing manner.  Receiving incoming shipments and preparing products for the sales floor. Assisting in item fulfillment of online orders. Other beneficial skills for this role include: attention to detail, creativity, punctuality, technologically and mathematically apt.

Essential Functions

  1. Providing timely and accurate assistance in the daily restock of all products in the Museum Store and the Bat Shop. Products include Personalized Bats, Mini-Bats, Apparel, Souvenirs, Hats, Autographed Memorabilia.
  2. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of all product received, such as:
  • Picking up incoming shipments daily (often 2-3 times/day)
  • Prepping product for sales floor (tag/label/hang/back stock)
  • Picking up core products from Factory (Personalized Bats, Mini-Bats) and stocking in store daily. Then storing excess stock in an organized and accessible manner.
  1. Communicates product related issues such as low or out of stock, damages, over or short receiving.
  2. Leverages Counterpoint point of sale system to maintain an accurate and consistent flow of product to retail sales floor.
  3. Conduct physical inventories as scheduled, needed or on request of the Product Manager.
  4. Team player within the retail department and companywide.

 Requirements:

  • College Student
  • Strong work ethic, punctual, and adaptable to change on short notice.
  • Above average organization skills, attention to detail, and creativity.
  • Able to lift 50lbs repeatedly and stand for long periods of time.
